If it's chronic, than you probably do have tinnitus. Since it's interfering with your sleep, you should have it checked out. Consistently getting less than 5-6 hours of sleep is terrible for your health.Health Question & Answer

You said you are 13 years old. Have you told your parents.? Honestly If it has been going on for 3 or more days then I think you need to see your doctor about this. Have you been exposed to very high level sound recently.? Are you also having any problems with hearing loss.? You could possibly have something going on with your basilar membrane. The basilar membrane is the area of the inner ear inside the cochlea, that converts sound waves to electrical signals which is sent to the brain for interpretation. It is also possible that you have a problem your auditory nerve (aka the 8th cranial nerve). Or you could have another health problem not even involving the ear. As Tinnitius is also a symptom of many other health problems. It is import to know that Tinnitus is a symptom not a disease.

Basically what you need to do now is tell your parents so they can make an appointment for you to see the doctor.

Hope you get to feeling better soon bud! :-)Health Question & Answer
