What's happening to my hand?!

Question: What's happening to my hand.?
It all started 3 days ago when woke up and my left hand was numb. I had trouble putting my pants on and pulling the curtains up. the numbness went away some time at noon. I still had the minor "pins and needles." The next day i woke up and the same thing happened, i was numb, then it went away, this time the "pins and needles" had gotten worse and spread down to the lower right side of my palm. Next morning same thing happened, numbness, it disappears, but again it got worse. This time it spread to my finger next to my pinky. Later on in the day it gradually went numb. At night, my pinky was practically crippled. I couldn't get it straightened and it constantly goes back to a bendable form. The other finger, next to the pinky, is doing the same thing as my pinky and it is also going into this shape.
I am so confused.
Someone told me it was a pinched nerve. But i really don't know.
Please if you know tell me. I'm getting worried that my whole hand will be unusable.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Sounds like you are pinching a nerve, probably in your shoulder. That is what I got from my doctor. My little finger is a bit numb all the time and at times so is my ring finger and part of my palm. It will get worse depending on my arm position when in bed. If I keep my arm close to my body it is not as bad.
Check with your doctor. Health Question & Answer

You are getting compression of the ulnar nerve. It is common that you start to have your symptoms at night. We tend to not move as much in our sleep, the fluid in your arms has a chance to build up compressing the nerve more and sleeping positions can compress this nerve more. What concerns me is how long it takes for the numbness to go away. Go see your doctor. If they are unable to find the source or come up with a treatment plan ask for a referral to physical therapy. Health Question & Answer

I, personally, would go to your doctor. It could be a pinched nerve, but it could also be something wrong with your central nervous system. I wouldn't postpone a visit to at least your general practitioner. If you don't have a GP, I would look up some neurologists in your area.
Best of luck!Health Question & Answer

Alot of times this occurs when you sleep you can cause what is known as a nerve impingement. Simply pinching of the nerves but your sounds a little more involved. With the complaint about your pinky you should go have your blood sugar and blood workup done. Health Question & Answer
