Do I need stitches? ?!
Question: Do I need stitches.? .?
My dog was trying to get a toy from my hand while I simultaneously threw it and his tooth got caught in my finger and when I pulled my hand out (obviously) it cut me. It's about an inches long and kinda deep and bled a lot for a while. I ended up putting some neosporin and a band-aid on after cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide. A couple hrs later I went to change the band-aid and it started bleeding again. Should I think about getting stitches or something.?Health Question & Answer

First bleeding is one of the bodies way to cleanse a wound. You need to determine whether or not the bleeding is excessive or not. Will the bleeding stop after applying direct pressure for approx 5 min.?
What's kinda deep.? Is it like a scratch.? or like a cut so deep that you can actual difference between skin layer and meat below.? If you answer the latter I say go to DR. or ER probably need stitches.
Animal bites can become infected very easily!! You may want to be seen just to be safe and make sure wound is properly cleansed. If nothing else.

You need to go to the doctor. Dog bites or cut created by dogs teeth can be very nasty later do to the bacteria that dogs have on their teeth. Most the time the doctor chooses not to stitch because they need the wound to remain open a bit so that the bacteria isn't closed up inside. Stopping the bleeding is the main reason for stitches, so if the bleeding is stopped watch very closely for infection.Health Question & Answer
Hey.
You may not need stitches but you may need medicines.
When my dog bit me in my wrist, it wasn't a deep cut but after 2 or 3 days I started to notice some bruising around the cut and my father took me to the doctor. I had to take antibiotics and it was not very pleasant.
