My rat got basically attacked by his brother. His tail is all bloody the end of his tail is like completely messed up he has a sore on one of his feet the other is enflated. Is there anything I can do at home to help him heal.?Health Question & Answer

Please No Alcohol on the poor little thing! This will really hurt and sting. I would just make sure that you keep them separated from each other and keep him and his cage really clean. Animals have their own way of healing. Nature is a cool thing. He should be fine with lots of love and care from you. Anything you put on him he most likely will lick off and that is not good. Let him recuperate on his own. Time will probably be the key. You sound as if You are a great Rat owner and you seem to really love and care for him. Like I said keep him away from the brother because animals seem to go after the week one and with him being hurt the brother may really attack him. Poor little guy he will get better on his own and with your love and care he will be just fine. If his paw gets more swollen or he just is not acting right then call a vet and talk with them.
