Can someone please tell me what is wrong with me, per MRI report..?!

Question: Can someone please tell me what is wrong with me, per MRI report...?
Suffering w/ neck pain for over a year now. (now occasional numbness and or tingling in arms) I was in two car accidents 10 years ago. About 3 years ago it really started with shoulder tension mostly. I just assumed it was from working at a computer all day. My Grandfather had spinal arthrits and my Grandmother severe arthritis also.. The MRI says mild uncinate process hypertrophy of C3-C4. I was told by 1 Dr he felt a bone spur growing oddly on 1 of my vertebrae.. waiting now for ortho to call with appt, because the last two drs I have seen tell me whip lash or basically Im crazy. I am 33 years old and my life is consumed with pain. Constant muscle spasms that push so hard on the nerves and I swear sometimes it feels like a part of my bone is shifting out of its place, you can actually feel it.... I would so appreciate it if anyone that knows what I am going thru or maybe a specialist that can tell me what "unciante process hypertrophy" means and my symptoms with that report... Whats wrong with me.? Thanks a million!!!Health Question & Answer

OK, I am pretty sure that basically all that "uncinate process hypertrophy" actually means is that you have hypertrophy (enlargement) of your uncinate process (boney area that keeps the vertebrae from sliding backwards) it could be pressing on nerves causing your pain, spasms, numbness and tingling. The best advice I can offer is to try and get with a upper cervical chiropractor, I saw one and he was awesome, made all my headaches go away, I hope this helped some....its just really hard to say without looking at your MRI/
X-Rays...but I hope this kind of helped, and atleast it said it was mild, and hopefully there is a way to treat it so it doesnt get worse....I wish you lots of luck, and I hope you feel better....I am also going to attach some links for the specific chiropractic care I was talkin about....it should have a directory so hopefully you can find one nearest to you.... again.....good luck, and feel betterHealth Question & Answer

I'm no doctor but maybe it is some sort of disc bulging and it presses on nerves.

You should perhaps see a neurologist. The spine is a very complicated thing since it is connected to the nervous system. Good Luck!

I can't read your report for you, but I'd highly recommend making an appointment with a spine or pain management specialist. I have some major back and neck problems, and no one was very helpful until I met with a specialist. Luckily, I am in Colorado and have access to Steadman Hawkins, they are amazing.
It sounds like you're having muscle spasms, which I know are miserable. You can get help, I promise! call your local hospital to see if they have a pain clinic, they'll be able to find you someone that specializes in problems like yours, they can help you instead of just trying to cover up symptoms.Health Question & Answer

Try and be patient. I think an orthopedic doctor will more be able to tell you exactly what the issue is hopefully. Get all the facts and info you can - and even 2nd and 3rd opinions, if possible. I just know that pain management is exactly that, pain management. My husband had slightly herniated discs in his back and then an actual whiplash kinda thing that started messing with his shoulder in addition. Long story short, we went thru some badddd years trying to find meds that worked for him and that he could tolerate. I just wanna say, one doctor was way too easy on prescribing oxycontin. We almost ended in divorce over that little deal because the drug messed with my husband so bad - I'm just saying get all the facts before you make decisions on how to "treat" the problem. Just a little "fyi". Health Question & Answer
