Question: Medical question broke rib, spleen.?
Today I went to the doctors because on my 21st birthday I went out to celebrate with my hubby, and few friends. When we came back home I was obviously drunk. But we have these really BIG rocks at my house and I feel like really hard on one of them. I went to the ER because I couldn't breath and I was just in HORRIBLE pain, that was about an hour or two after not being able to deal with it. So we went to the doctors and I was starting to sober up (still drunk but not as much as I was.) Well my ER doctor was PISSED. He pretty much let me go int he room for like 15 min came back and said okay we took an X-RAY nothing is wrong go home get rest. Well first off my cousin was in the room with me and he said that they never did the XRAY.
Well three and a half weeks later (today) I go to my doctors and explain to them how its still hurting and should a bruised rib still hurt like this. I can't sleep on it, I cant breath a complete breath, I can't pick up my son (11 months old), I can't bend over, I can't sit up with out being in pain. She said that doesn't seem normal. Looked up my records from the night at the hospital and said that if they said that the ER doctor took an XRAY then he had to have taken and XRAY. Well she looked it up and he never did like my cousin and I said. So then still said that they had to have taken the XRAY.
So then she says lets just check it out. Here its my one rib and my spleen area. But they want to do nothing about it. They said take Tylenol and in a couple of weeks all the pain should go away. But should I be concerned about my Spleen. This is a new doctors and she has only been in my area since July.? Not saying that this is a bad thing but she is also from Puerto Rico ... So I don't know. I think I might just be parinoid.?Health Question & Answer

If it was your spleen, you'd be in surgery by now or the first night. Can't explain the xray story. sounds like an oversight, doc ordered it, maybe checked off, so he thought it was done. but didn't check it himself.... hope you didn't get charged for that. The doc's don't do anything if ribs are broken anyway, no splinting. just heat, or cold, tylenol, rest, yes, they are bruised along with the cartilage and muscle soreness, takes awhile to get better, up to a month or so, 6 wks..
