Scaphoid Fracture, got cast off and stiff and aches a bit?!
Question: Scaphoid Fracture, got cast off and stiff and aches a bit.?
Yeah I fractured my scaphoid and had my wrist in a cast for 8 weeks and I got an X-ray today and it is 100% healed so they took the cast off.
But my question is why does my wrist still hurt when I move it in certain directions.? It is also extremely stiff.? When will the stiffness go away.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Completely normal, your wrist is stiff because it has been held in one position for 8 weeks.
Try gentle exercises to start with, squeezing and rolling a soft, small ball is a good starting one.
Fill the bath or kitchen sink with warm water and move your arm around in it, movement is easier under water.Health Question & Answer

scaphoid fractures can be hard to heal because of poor circulation in that area. It probably has a little healing left to do even tho the cast is off. You probably still have a little swelling also making it stiff and painful. Health Question & Answer
