It is hard to know what the scar is from. Was it a surgery site.? Was a growth removed there.? Or was it just an injury.? That can impact things.
It's always hard to diagnose from a picture alone, but it does look like it may be infected. Is it oozing any pus.? Is it warm to the touch.? Do you have a fever.?
There are a lot of variables involved, and at this point I think the best thing to do is to check in with your doctor to get it examined as it will be difficult for people on the web to give you an accurate diagnosis without being able to see or touch the wound.

It's called a .... i forgot but my son had this and he had to go to the doctor every couple weeks to get shots in the scar to bring it back to normal and it took 30 shots and it's good now. This was like 15 years ago. When I remember the word I'll come back and edit. Check this out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scar#Steroi... The word is keloid.Health Question & Answer

Looks normal to me. if you don't feel any pain or don't have a fever, there is no infection. You may have a condition called Kiloidosis meaning that your wounds would be raised after healing. just a little extra collagen stuff. Health Question & Answer

It's just scar tissue.

I had a minor surgery in august and my scar looks purple/pink and raised. It will take a while for it to heal. Just talk to your doctor to be 100% sure. Health Question & Answer
