Tiny lump on on back of neck?!

Question: Tiny lump on on back of neck.?
About a week ago, I began to feel a tiny, pea sized lump on the back of my neck (closer to the left side), under the skin. It's hard, and usually painless, except in the morning, if I tilt my head to the left, it begins to feel uncomfortable.

If I remember correctly, I had the same thing last year around the winter time. Does anyone know what it can be.? Please ask any questions I can answer to clarify.

Thanks!

Answers:
From what it sounds you might be having a lipoma. Lipomas are benign (not cancerous), slow-growing tumours that arise from fat cells. They are usually round, moveable, flattened lumps under the skin. They feel soft and doughy or rubbery. Lipomas usually grow in the neck, shoulders, back, or arms.
If you notice a lump or swelling anywhere on your body, you should have it checked by your family doctor. Tests are usually not needed. Your doctor can usually diagnose a lipoma just by looking at it and feeling the firmness of the lump.
There is no available cure for a lipoma. If it is causing pain or cosmetic problems you can go in for a surgery by a plastic surgeon. They are removed by a simple excision under local anesthesia. Best option would be to consult a doctor.Health Question & Answer
