How do I decide whether I want to be a nurse or a pediatrician?!

Question: How do I decide whether I want to be a nurse or a pediatrician.?
I am 14 in high school. I know I want to be either a nurse or a pediatrician or some other medical profession. [Not in a lab, but with people.] I am not grossed out about anything, besides maggots :P, and I have been and plan to continue to get 4.0's in school.

I was wondering how I can decide what route to take.
What are the perks of each and the downsides.?

Thank you so much!

The Health field is one of the best choices, especially with the way the economy is going. Ofcourse being a Registered Nurse is easier and costs less money and its much faster to finish. Nursing school is usually two years and after you finish you make a lot of money becuase there is a
shortage of about one hundred thousand Nurses In US or even more. You can even travel becuase Nurses are demanded everywhere and you never have to worry about being out work. But if you want to be a pediatrician, that is alot more years in school and alot more student loans. but in the end after you pay off your student loans, you will live a very comfortable life and be respected even more. you decide if you want to put all your time and energy into this field and not quit when your half way finished. Are you going to be willing to commit to studying all the time for the next few years and not going out to party or skipping classes to hang out with friends. You will have to say no to alot of tempting things and focus on you goel and studies. Its not going to be easy but it will be worth it in the end! you decide if you want to work hard for what you want and if you think that you will have self control than go for it.Health Question & Answer

Lie down in a comfortable and quiet spot.
Transport yourself into the future and try on each profession.
Imagine yourself going through a day in each, seeing the benefits and the drawbacks.
Check with your feelings to see to which one you are attracted to and which one makes you feel the best.
If you are happy in what you do, the money will follow, or you will be too busy to really care about the size of the salary.Health Question & Answer

well..do you like kids a lot.?.? thats good for a pediatrician...plus being a doctor requires 4 years of college, then medical school and then a residency. where becoming a nurse only requires the 4 year college degree..so..thats something to think about. and what kind of nurse do you want to be.? hospital.? doctors office.? nurse practicioner.?Health Question & Answer

Being a pediatrician takes more effort. U have to be in school longer. Pediatricians make more money than nurses though

To be a nurse the you stay in school mainly 4 years.

You can also be a pediatric nurse.

But in general doctors get paid more than nurses of course Health Question & Answer

Hello! The best way to find that out is by trying to volunteer at a local hospital so in that way you will get some hands on training and you can decide for yourself what you want to be. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
