There's not much you can do for the pain - immobilization of the wrist with a brace can help, as long as you can find a brace that doesn't put pressure on the cyst. I have heard some people get relief from applying warm heat - not hot, but just a little warmer than your skin - around 100 degrees; but this also aggravates the problem with some people. You can try it out - put a cup of dry rice in a cotton sock and heat it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds and set the sock on your hand.Health Question & Answer
hit it hard with a heavy hardback book. a dictionary would be good. seriously. i have a few friends who have ganglions and that is what they do. the cyst will go down, it may come back over a few months but then you just hit it again
edited to add: formerly..'s advice is good if it was an arthritic cyst ie synovitis of the wrist. but i don't think that is what you are describing.?Health Question & Answer
