Question: What is an opthalmic migraine and have you had one.?
I experienced this odd visual disturbance like a photography flash going off everything blurred zigzag pattern with light in middle, never had it before and it lasted 20 mins or so, I felt anxious during it, and a bit panicked, but googled it to find it was some sort of migraine aura.? and I have a head cold and stuffy nose today. Any helpful comments of others who had this would be appreciated ! taHealth Question & Answer

I had it twice. Not fun. The first time I had it, it came with a conscious state of confusion. I knew I was confused. I could not string words together. I could read words, but not understand the sentence. The 2nd time, 1 year later, it was just visual.
See a doctor just in case -- just in case it is a clot or similar. I had a CAT scan and took aspirin for a few days, just in case. Once the CAT scan came back negative, I stopped.Health Question & Answer

You may well be describing a migraine with a visual aura, however there are also other possible causes for your symptoms. Much safer to get your GP to arrange a check up.Health Question & Answer
