I have a question about lortab addiction?!

Question: I have a question about lortab addiction.?
11 weeks ago , i had a c-section and i was given percocets for 2 weeks and then lortabs, after that i was still in pain and prescribed lortabs, its been 11 weeks and im having more tests done because they might have done something wrong because im having horrible pelvic pain still. or its my ovaries or something down there! My question is, ive been on either lortabs or percocets every day for almost 3 months! I usually only take 1 lortab 7.5 a day..i half them and take one in the morning at 11 and then one then a half of a 7.5 at night.
i dont take them to get high, i only take them so my pain isnt unbearable, and i have a really low tolerance for them. my question is that when im finally over my pain, will even this low of a dose cause lortab withdrawals. im so terrified of any addiction.

or is there possibly some other form of a pain reliever besides percocets and lortabs.? i havent taken percocets since about 3 weeks ago, and the past two weeks its been lortabs.Health Question & Answer

You absolutely can become addicted. Of course, your doctor is doing what he/she thinks is best. However, even though you are following the dosage instructions, there is still a possibility you could become addicted and you need to discuss these concerns with your doctor.

What does addiction really mean.? When your body is addicted to something, it simply means that your body has become accustomed to having the drug around. Lortab is an opiate, which means it affects the endorphins in your central nervous system. What people often experience after extensive opiate use is that they are constantly in pain when they don't take their pain killers. Again, this is because your body is depending on the drug for pain relief, and not your own natural endorphins. Your natural hormones decrease in level as you take the drug over long periods of time.

It is great that you are aware of the dangers. Lortabs are slightly less powerful than percocets, so this is good news, however, you may still undergo some withdrawls. You must stay aware of your body and your needs, and know when it's time to stop. It sounds like you're already having some of these feelings. Have you tried other medications, like IBUprofen, aleve, or some prescription strength anti-inflammatory.?

You are taking a very small dose, which is great, but still be aware of what can happen. It just takes self control to know and admit when you no longer need them.Health Question & Answer

it sounds like you have an addictive personality if you are worried about withdrawals and addiction. i do too, but you now need to change this to putting all your time and effort into your newest adventure-- your baby. think about how they would be with a mother who was substance addicted and you should be able to walk away. goodluckHealth Question & Answer
