Why aren't painkillers doing anything for my headaches?!

Question: Why aren't painkillers doing anything for my headaches.?
Every headache I've had recently hasn't been helped by any regular OTC pain meds. I've just had to wait until they went away. Any reason why this is or what I should do.?Health Question & Answer

Advil is just like any other pain medicine, nothing special. They might be due to high blood pressure, in which case pain killers would do nothing for them. also, usually treating pain is pretty much useless for headaches because they'll just come back when the pain medication wears off and you really shouldn't be taking it often. I would suggest talking to your doctor to try to figure out what is causing them and what you can do to prevent them, rather than having to deal with them constantly. If your doctor diagnoses them as headaches associated with migraine, he or she might be willing to prescribe you maxalt or imitrex.Health Question & Answer
