Can i hold my school reliable if...?!

Question: Can i hold my school reliable if....?
last night it snowed and its been real cold lately so we have ice patches on the sidewalk at school. i usually walk around the ice, but since the sidewalks were covered with snow (our school doesn't shovel or plow till after school lets out) i slipped and hurt my tailbone. i went in to get xrayed because i've already been suffereing from 3 bulging disks and a herniated SI joint for a year now.
if my xrays show somethings wrong and i need physical therapy or something can i sue the school.?
i'm also going to be off of work for awhile, could i sue for that.? mind you i'm only 17 and make a whole $300 every pay day, but still...just curious.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
at best they are liable for the safety of you kids to have to walk around ... the sidewalks an parking lots should be shoveled and salted for safe easy walking.

at the very most they should have to pay for the medical bills ... not sure if you will get for time off work but hey its worth talking to someone about. as long as you can prove the tailbone injury is from the slip and fall at the school. if you had pics of the area where you fell would have been good too before they shoveled..it would have been beter eveidence they didnt do their part...but i would least try to get medical expensises paid.Health Question & Answer

Since it happened on school property, the school is responsible for what happens to the students. They should have had ice melt or sand down on the sidewalks. So, yes, you can sue the school. Talk to your parents and maybe see about a lawyer.Health Question & Answer

"reliable" or liable.?

You need to first file an accident claim with the school because it happened on school property. That will put it on record the time and date of injury. Do it as soon as possible.Health Question & Answer

I would consult a lawyer.
I would think that the school would at least be partially responsible. They should take more precautions!

The only way to know for sure would be to ask a lawyer.Health Question & Answer

So you knew full well that there would be slippery and icy patches on the sidewalk and yet you did not wear spikes.? It's not the schools fault that you cannot be bothered to take care of yourself. You have a pre-existing condition, you should be extra-careful to try and prevent falls, knowing full well it could do severe, irreperable damage to your spine if you were to fall. American society is far too litigious.

I think you really just want money for nothing.Health Question & Answer
