Just watched "sicko" in school and it looked bad...not only does it cost money, but people loose all their money and house too if they get a serious illness.?Health Question & Answer

yes that is exactly right. My husband and I have one child, 2 yrs old and currently spend about $600 per month in 'premiums' wether we go to a Dr or not. Then we still pay out of pocket for each Dr visit - a small fee of $25, then many prescriptions meds are not covered, i just spent $120 on my two rx for one month. My mom spent $400 and she is 67 yrs old!! If they are 'covered' you can still expect to pay $20 per month per medication as a 'copay'. And thats only for genrics if there is one, brand names cost more. Then you have the big deductible items, like MRIs, and CT Scans and such, even if ordered by your Dr to investigate an illness you have to pay up to $2000 and even $5000 towards it before insurance starts paying the rest.
It is a crock, it keeps getting way more expensive every year, at my office the insurance premium we pay went of 300% last year!!!! But it is still cheaper than paying the Drs and Hospitals out of pocket with no insurance if you have a severe emergency or extended disease.Health Question & Answer
