Does traction help your herniated cervical disc?!

Question: Does traction help your herniated cervical disc.?
I have 2 herniated cervical discs and just started traction yesterday (my 11th p.t. visit). My p.t. switched to that, instead of the heated rolling bed and electrical stimulus patches. He is also doing ultrasound and massage.

Did traction help you.? If so, after how many sessions.Health Question & Answer

Hi
I had a similar condition L2-L3, L3- L4, L4 - C1,

Traction certainly helps but not the old style traction , nowdays pulsed traction is advised. also IFT Interferential therapy helps, but here in US the equipment is only available through a doctor, unlike in europe or india

for the last 2 years my condition has improved after using the medical ball exercise . These exercise help in stretching the inter vertibral spaces leading to some improvements.

but i would suggest asking the specialist before going in for the ball exercises.Health Question & Answer
