Question: Recovery time for laparoscopic cholecystectomy.?
I got my gallbladder out yesterday. I have been taking Ultram and Oxycodone even four hours but it still sucks. I've never had any kind of surgery before. :(
How long should I expect until I start feeling better.? And how long should it take the incisions to heal.?

Hi, some of the pain you are feeling could well be the gas which is used to inflate the abdomen during surgery. The incisions that are made can be a little sore for a few weeks, I felt uncomfortable when I had the surgery for about a month to six weeks, but of course it can differ with each person. I had that surgery, one afternoon and felt no pain, walked out the the hospital the next day, took it easy for a day or two, and barely took tylenol.... In your place, I'd go back and see your doc.Health Question & Answer
