I've been picking my eye lashes since 5th grade, and I've had enough of the addiction. How can I stop?!

Question: I've been picking my eye lashes since 5th grade, and I've had enough of the addiction. How can I stop.?
I've been picking my eye lashes since I was in 5th grade, I'm now in 10th and I still pick them. I don't know if it's a stress reaction or a side-effect of the medicine I'm on (it usually only happens when I'm on my ADHD medicine), and I only have a few eye lashes left. It's very sad for me, I want to end all of this, it's become an addiction. My eye lashes continue to grow back, but I know they're important to protecting my eyes, and I'm tired of going into phases of nonstop picking. Please tell me why I keep getting the urge and eventually go into a phase of pulling my eye lashes, and definitely tell me how I can stop. I need the help, now...Health Question & Answer

Speed (which is in add meds) can cause nervous twitches and addictions, especially if addictive behavior runs in your family already.

I was on Adderall and I got to the point where I would pull my arm hairs, leg hairs, eyelashes, and eyebrows out with tweezers. One day, my boyfriend said to me that it really bothered him and it wasn't normal and I had to stop or get help. He took my tweezers away and I was so upset. I thought he was being incredibly unfair and so mean but after a couple of days I started to understand where he was coming from. I tweeze my eyebrows ocassionally, but never too much. I am off the meds, but I was able to overcome my hair pulling addiction while still on Adderall.
