How do i make a slight reducion in my medicine without rebound pyhcosis and what are my other choices?!
Question: How do i make a slight reducion in my medicine without rebound pyhcosis and what are my other choices.?
im on 800 mg of amisulphride per day. in two 400 mg tablets
my doctor is not budging and i think he doesn't want to risk the change but today i have taken one early and one yet to come (it will) and this is a part of my trying to figure out the best times to take my medicine.
at the moment i am feeling slightly more paranoid but also a lot more lucid in that i'm happier and definitly more cohesive.
<just taken tonights now [ i staid up later tonight just to see the effect]
or if i were just to take all 800 at night in the hope it would improve my days or 600 at night and 400 in the morning for the same reason would i be safe from any breakdown.
fyi i used to be fine on 200 but after i stopped taking it years ago and then coming back on it after resperidone and then abilify, when it was raised to 800 after a certain 'incident' of a break.
the reason for this is that i just feel more content with myself at the moment and i know the levels are different because my mood has become more positive e.g. less self conciuos and more brave if you get me in doing everyday thing like doing the dishes and washing the car.
am i over medicated or should i just stay safe and trust the doctors word.

There are other choices to staying over-medicated or trusting the doctor. You can get a second opinion. I think a strong partnership with the physician is important, and if you think you need further advice seek a second opinion. The two docs can talk to each other if necessary too.
