Question: I feel like im not really "there" anymore.?
For maybe a month or so, I've been feeling like im not really "there", like I'm detached and I'm feeling mentally numb. And i'm only 14. I moved about 5 months ago to a different state and started high school here and I hadn't shown any signs of depression.

First of all, close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths.
First analyze how are things at home, with your family, with your friends and in school.
Then check your hobbies and the things you like to do for entertainment.

or maybe it is depression. everyone goes through it at some point in their life, whether it be on a small scale or a large one.
"the terms depression = severe levels of sadness, perceived helplessness, disinterest, and other related emotions and behaviors."
i think your experiencing grief which makes you depressed - grief for your old life. It could even just be hormones.
Try talking to a councilperson about it - i know a lot of people underestimate the importance of councilling.

its called depersonalisation, or derealisation and it does happen in that age. I had it happen too...only in my case it was kinda more traumatizing. It will go by in time, and you will be fine. It is the result of a stressful time. What you should do though is talk to someone. Parents, professionals. Im sure soon you will be fine. Take care.Health Question & Answer

it could be several things. but you really need to see a doctor or counselor. or if you have a friend that you feel comfortable talking to.
