I have accidently stabbed myself with a knife & since then I've....?!
Question: I have accidently stabbed myself with a knife & since then I've.....?
Ok,just want to say first off that no, Im not a cutter.
This happened on the night right before my graduation 2 years ago (class of '06), I had my brothers pocket knife that I was trying to fix (it wouldn't close even though it was brand new) it slipped and it fell onto my thigh(yeah, yeah, i was stupid over my leg, i know), I went to the ER and only required 6 stitches, 1 inside and the rest to close it up.
Now at 19, 2 years later, I'm afraid of knives, not fully, I still use them but am quite hesitant...
So my question is, have you kinda had a similar experience and now am afraid of knives as I am.? And/or did you have a similar experience and even a period of hesitation and now you are over it.? and if so, how did you overcome and how long did it take.?Health Question & Answer

My friend was stabbed to death 4 years ago and for 6 months I could not stand to even be in the same room as a knife. I went to therapy and gradually I got used to them being in the room. 4 years on and I can use them when eating and preparing food, but I keep them locked in a draw and I hide the key.
It is completely normal to still be afraid and hesitant, and the only advise I can offer is to keep using them to build up your confidence. It worked for me.
