After a certain age Nature wants us to die. Agreed?

Question:
If not why does it switch off all sorts of hormones etc so that we wither and die?
The average age in the West has gone right up,
thanks to Medical intervention. So it knocks millions off in 'Natural Disasters' and invents new incurable Diseases....Yeah?

Answer:
the longer you live the more mutagens occur during cell division - these mutagens are known as cancer. My history teacher believed for every deadly disease we develop immunity to another comes along - H5N1, AIDS etc.

I think wanting to live longer is a fear of death - but talking about death is still a big taboo. The human body isn't designed to live over a certain period of time.

Statistically women live longer than men - but more boys are born than girls
Yeah you are right about new incurable diseases but as science improves there will be new cures. But you are right we are programmed to die at a certain age and our body want s this too.Everybody wants to live longer according to big numbers . So are you bored of living or do you think life does not worth living .
Disagree.

We start dying from birth.

Our bodies where designed to break down from the beginning.

The choices we make (or have made for us as children) over our nutrition and physical activity play large roles in our own ability to extend our life.

Maintaining a healthy eating plan and consistant exercise program will aid in keeping our bodies healthy and prolong our life span.

Almost all disease is caused by poor nutritional choices (sugar, flour, processed foods, saturated fats...etc.)along with the role of our environment and a dash of genetics.
it is part of life.
Everything that grows dies eventually, animals ,plants, humans.
Thanks to modern medical advances the humans live longer nowand because we are living longer the world poulation is growing.
I don't know about the Natural disasters making up for not dying at the right time naturally.I think we do that to ourselves because we screw about with the planet,;eg; cutting down rain forests, global warming, they are all problems created by man
We have to make way for more people or resources like jobs and housing will run out not to mention pensions which Britain has not enough cash for due to everyone living longer

Have you ever met anyone over the age of 90?

Even if they are well mentally they are still living in the past
Cant be that nice being confused all the time with everyone you loved long gone
I personally hope to live a very long life. I look forward to seeing life well into my late 90's thanks to medical science.

I don't know about the last part of you theory I believe the natural disasters are because our earth is dying. I just wish there was more being done to prevent it's demise.
Agreed, but you have to define what you mean by certain age
You are right .Nature builds us up to reproduce when that process is over in women(change of life) nature conives to get rid of females by making them suseptable to all sorts of health problems which luckily nowadays can be treated. It may sound sexist but it would seem that nature likes men who live longer as in the past these would be the top in the gene pool.I think natural disasters are nothing to do with the equation they have always been there and havent slowed down the growth of mankind
Natural disasters and diseases are not 'inventions' of mother nature.
Look at climate change due to excessive use of fossil fuels.
Consider why we are experiencing new and more robust viruses.
Is it due to us not giving a damm anymore.
DISAGREED. We all know we are going to die, but none of us knows WHEN that will happen?

Death can and does occur at all ages. In recent years it has suddenly been discovered, because of a EU Directive forcing the UK government to change legislation against "age discrimination" in employment, that there is no rational need for a compulsory retiring age from work. It is also a fact, that while some are unfit for work and over ready to retire in their thirties or forties either for medical reasons or a desire to lead a life of idleness thereafter, others want to and and are successfully able to go on working very hard into their seventies and eighties and never miss a day's work, even though their younger work colleagues take many days off for alleged "sickies".

Recent studies by business managements seem to confirm that many still working in their sixties and seventies work harder and more reliably than others of half or less their age, and are often fitter and more healthy than their younger work colleagues, and without any medical intervention keeping them that way.
