What are your symptoms?
I recently discovered yeast and or wheat caused mine. When I skip wheat and yeast products I feel much better. Its hard to do but it comes back everytime I eat a wheat crackers bread etc. Apparently allergies can change with age since until the last 5 to 8 years I never had this problem.
I was just diagnosed with this disease two weeks ago. I am 56 and smoked for 40 yrs. I quit. I have a problem with my heart, blood pressure, and anxiety, on top of the gastritis I have diverticulitis, all I am told connected to smoking and diet. Go online and you will get all the information you need to help with this problem. I was put on protonix to help with the inflamation. Alcohol also does damage to the stomach. I don't drink, but diet, low fiber right now, no peanuts or other kinds of nuts and berries, and of course drink lots of water. If you have health ins. check with a gastro dr. to have an endoscopy. That tells the dr. a lot. No salt either. Good luck, feel better, I do now that I am taking medication for this and watching my diet.

my doctors and looking it up online
if you've had it for ages get tested for a bacteria called helicobacter, think that's how its spelled, anyway gastritis and indeed ulcers can be caused by this bacteria although there are many other causes its worth getting a blood test to see if you have it. I had it myself and felt 100 times better after i got rid of it following a short course of medication consisting of two antibiotics and a pump inhibitor
It is your diet that causes this. For something to help you with this see your family doctor. There is no cure.
