Fungal infections in the mouth are usually caused by candida and are white patches. Are you able to wipe the spots off with a paper towel? If not, it's not likely to be a fungal infection.
Black hairy tongue is not caused by a fungus. It's just some people have longer papilla on their tongue and the tissue picks up stains from things entering your mouth. It is especially apparent in smokers.
My guess, without looking at your tongue would be that the black spots are varices, which is analagous to a varicose vein in your leg. They're harmless but look bad and feel weird. A dentist or oral surgeon would be able to remove it without too much trouble and test it to make sure it's not cancer.
Your best bet would be go see a physician or a dentist rather than self diagnose, just in case it's something else.
