How often should gel nails be completely taken off.?!

Hi Hope somone can help with this I have gel Nails on top of my own how often should I have them taken off and how long should i keep them off or should i even keep them off at all. Thanks in Advance. Italy

once every two weeks, otherwise sometimes a fungus starts to grow between the fake and your real nail (only because water gets in between)
