My husband snores alot. Would this be considered a health problem?!

Question: My husband snores alot. Would this be considered a health problem.?
Answers:
I feel for you! My husband snores ALOT and very loud at times too.

It can be a health problem. The key is just to figure out which one. It could be sinus problems, a deviated septum, enlarged tonsils, etc. Or it can be Sleep Apnea which is much more serious. He can actually stop breathing for short periods of time with Sleep Apnea. If it doesn't get better or it worsens he should see his doctor. The doctor may want to do a sleep study on him. I am trying to get my husband to go get checked out. But, he is very stubborn.

Good luck! And stock up on ear plugs!Health Question & Answer

My husband snores a lot too. It is all attributed to his weight gain. Snoring could be a sign of sleep apnea which could lead to heart problems. I believe my husband has apnea since he wakes up a lot coughing or gasping for air. He is also really tired throughout the day because his lack of breathing wakes him up so much during the night. We recently bought the Pure Sleep and he does not snore as long as he wears it. His only complaint is that it made his teeth hurt for a couple of days until he got used to it.Health Question & Answer

Yes it is, I have sleep apnea and I'm not over weight I'm 5'9 and weigh 140 lbs. Plus he's not really sleeping as well as he should. I'd have him go see a doctor about it.
If he has sleep apnea he go for a sleep study test and then they'll set him up with a CPAP machine and this will stop his snoring and help him sleep better.
Sleep apnea is not always people who are over weight. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said it's not always over weight people with this problem. So you don't have to be over weight to have this problem like people claim. It's just not completely true!
For me when I sleep on my back I stop breathing, with the CPAP machine this keeps me breathing even on my back.Health Question & Answer
