Swimming for 3 years but nothing changed in my legs?!
Question: Swimming for 3 years but nothing changed in my legs.?
I've been swimming for 3 years in a swim club with very intense practices. However all my years of swimming i have never noticed a change in my legs except getting a little more muscular and growing a little longer. Am i missing something because i thought that swimming also helped make the legs skinnier...Health Question & Answer

Sadly, you heard wrong. Swimming would only help make your legs skinnier if you had a large amount of fat hanging on them (rare in men), via helping burn fat, or if you did that instead of a high intensity weight lifting routine (i.e.: built up the muscle mass, then stopped using it).
Swimming makes a little less use of the legs compared to running or cycling, but it still keeps the muscles going strong.Health Question & Answer

Swimming does not help you make your legs skinner.
It actually builds up more muscles and the more you do, it is going to get more muscular.
It's genetic; some people do, some people don't.Health Question & Answer
