What is Circumcision and how do you know if you have it?!

Question: What is Circumcision and how do you know if you have it.?
Really weird question but what is circumcision and whats the benifits from it.? I'm 16 and i really DONT want to ask my parents, (that'd be embarrising.) Is circumcision where you have no head, or you do have a head on your penis.? Idk what foreskin is so please dont try to explain it like that. Sorry i'm kind of slow lolHealth Question & Answer

Answers:
Every penis has a head:without exceptions.
So you have one too
If there is an extra piece of skin that can cover the head when your penis is not erect then you have a foreskin.
If there is no extra skin then you are circumcised and the head is always uncovered.
Tried to explain it as simply as I could
E-mail or IM me if you still do not understand it:am no perv.

It is the removal of the useless flap of skin that covers the head of the penis when a boy is born. 80%+ of caucasian boys in the USA are circumcised and will get circumcised.

I was circumcised at 18, so been there and have the t-shirt! There is no downside to being circumcised only an upside. It is cleaner (uncircumcised guys can clean 3x a day + and still have odor), it is healthier (uncircumcised guys are 60% more likely to acquire STD's and HIV during they same sexual experience), it looks better (no brainer) and sexually it is much better. There is no loss of sensitivity, that is only a scare tactic from the anti's.

When our son's (NB,2&4) were born I had no hesitation to have them circumcised.Health Question & Answer

for your information i were circumcised when i was about 12.actually circumcision is a process cutting off your foreskin(a skin that cover your dick head),its not that you'll dont have head if you're circumcised. i do have a head on my dick.so when you're circumcised, the head of your dick will exposed cos theres no foreskin that covers your dick head..

it has a lot of benefit,as it can reduce the risk of getting penile cancer, urinary tract infection, stds, and HIVHealth Question & Answer

im circumcisedHealth Question & Answer

The foreskin is a vital part of the penis. Those that are circumcised do not know what they are missing.

The foreskin contains many specialized nerves on it's underside. When the foreskin is moved up and down it is very pleasurable. Circumcised men have lost this ability to masturbate easily as there is no gliding effect. Circumcised men often have to resort to artificial lubrication in masturbation and sex. See here for the function of the foreskin:

Without the foreskin protecting the glans, circumcised men lose further sensitivity. The glans (head of the penis) dries out. It also brushes on underwear causing the skin to toughen. See here for the full damage done:
http://www.noharmm.org/IDcirc.htm

There are good reasons to believe that sex is better for the woman as well, if the man has his foreskin intact:

As for the medical benefits they are slim to non-existant - they certainly are not worth mutilating your penis for.
Only 25% of the world's men are circed. 2/3 of these are Muslim. In Europe the rate is less than 2%. Men in Britain, France Germany Ireland etc are doing great. I reckon those that say circumcised is better do not know the function of the foreskin and are just jealous/pissed they were mutilated at birth without their consent.Health Question & Answer

An intact (uncircumcised) penis will have the foreskin covering or partially covering the head (glans) of the penis when the penis is soft (flaccid).
If circumcised the glans of the penis is totally or mostly exposed when the penis is soft. See the link below.

Both circumcised and intact penises can look similar especially when erect.

The two photos in the next link are of the same circumcised penis. On the left the penis is soft (flaccid) and on the right it is erect. Notice how when the penis is soft there is no foreskin covering the head (glans) of the penis. This penis is circumcised - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flacc...

The two photos in the next link are of the same intact (uncircumcised) penis. On the left the penis is soft (flaccid) and on the right it is erect. Notice how when the penis is soft the foreskin covers the head (glans) of the penis but when the penis is erect the foreskin retracts to reveal the head of the penis. This penis is intact (not circumcised) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Erect...

The following link shows the natural variation that occurs in foreskin length so it can be hard to tell sometimes if a guy is circumcised or not.

So.... you can see that both intact AND circumcised penises can look very similar especially when erect. This confuses a lot of young guys and leads to comments like
