my husband has been hurting right above his groin area that goes up around the waist area to the back.. he went and had a scan done and they said they did not see a mass but there is a blockage.. hes having a colonoscopy done this morning and to be honest, im scared to death.. his father has had cancer and he was able to catch it in time.. my husband waited so long walking around in pain.. he drinks beer pretty much everyday and is bloated.. i dont really know what im asking, im just scared there is something there and hope they will fix him.. i dont know what to look up to find symptoms for his problem..Health Question & Answer

relax.. colonoscopies are done not only for cancer detection, but also for symptons like your husband is complaining of.. They detected a blockage and just want to have a look and see what's causing it.. More than likely, there's just a twist in the colon there.. That's not uncommon..

undoubtedly there is somethign there but it could be almost anythign from a simple ingiunal hernia to your worst fear.. thing is you are wastign effort worrying at this point.. wait for the diagnosis then worry as appropriate..Health Question & Answer
