Question: Should I still undergo surgery for my Varicocele.?
i was diagnosed of bilateral varicocele and my doctor said it could affect my ability to father a child so he advised me to undergo semen analysis and here are the results:
Amount: 4..0 cc
Color: Opaque Gray
Liquefaction: 30 minutes
Viscosity: slightly viscid
Normal Morpholgy: 80%
Sperm Motility: Rapid Progressive- 60%
Slow Progressive- 15%
Non-progressive w/ occasional lateral movement - 10%
Overall Motility: 85%
Sperm Concentration: 35 million/ml
Total Sperm Concentration: 140 million/ejaculate
With these results should i still undergo the surgery.. im worried that the operation might do more damage than it might help.. pls.. help.. i need advice from you guys.. thanks in advance..Health Question & Answer

With these numbers see no reason to have it done right now:but if you leave the varicoceles as they are:chances are that the numbers will decrease..
Don't know your age,when you want to have children:take that under consideration too..
But as your Dr said:it COULD effect it:not WOULD..

I think a second opinion would be good.. You'll have to decide then whether or not you want to go through this procedure.. If the overall mobility is 85% that actually seems like pretty good odds to me that you would father a child....just might take a little longer.. Anyway, get a second opinion so you'll know..Health Question & Answer
Your numbers are better than my husbands.. If you have been trying for a long period of time I would suggest having it done, if not, then wait for a while to see if you can father a child..
