i am attending a ymca gym and i have been doing abb workouts on a machine i can barley see my abbs and i have been doing like 15 cruches daily i also do pullups and 20 min..cardio running ~ i dont know if im going to be able to get abbs or do i have to much body fat.?Health Question & Answer

you first have to burn off excess body fat by doing A LOT of cardio, more than 20 minutes, about 45 to an hour, sit ups wont burn fat, make sure you drink lots of water and NO junk food.. Stay dedicated and positive and you will achieve your goals, i just lost 30Kg in 12 months, now i have a six pack, if i can do it at my age you have no excuse.. The thing that alot of people dont know, is that they already have abs, they are just covered in fat.. I would recommend about 1 hour or more of cardio a day (running and rowing is the ideal form).. You will have to get your body fat down to around 6% before you can really see the shape of your abs.. When you can start seeing your abs, then that is when you should start doing ab workouts.. The best ab workout is no machine or anything, but the simple cruch.. You MUST make sure you are using the proper technique, because 5 of the proper technique is better than 50 without technique.. You wont have to do nearly as much if you do them correctly.. Putting your arms behind your head gives you more resistance, but dont use your arms to work out.. If you start to feel that the crutches are getting alot easier, start holding a 5lb barbell behind your head while doing them, then increase the weight if necessary.. also, a big part of lossing the fat is proper diet.. Not Jenny Craig, but a good suply of proteins and fats and carbohydrates is actually what you want if you are excercising, because your body needs to be fueled or else you are doing your body harm instead of good..Health Question & Answer

You can not get a 6 pack by just working out alone.. You gain your muscles in the GYM but you MAINTAIN them in the kitchen.. You should def look into cutting sugars, excessive fats, and greasy foods out of your diet.. 15 crunches daily also won't get you that far, you should maybe START at 15 and increase the amount you do every day by 5-10.. Next time you go to the doctor, have them check your body fat, but from your description I highly doubt that is the problem.. You're just not doing ENOUGH to work out your muscles.. So increase the amount of crunches you daily, and try alternating abdomen workouts.... google ab workouts and you'll find ALOT! Using a yoga ball is also very beneficial to working out your abs.. I am 17 and I weigh 145 lb I am currently working on a six-pack.. You don't work out enough to show results fast.. You got to do atleast 200 crunches a day to show results quick but if that is too hard start at 50 and work your way up.. and considering pull ups start weight lifting first to work on your arm strength start with 20 pound dumbells and you will be able to do more pullups each week.. also, you got to have some kind of diet because if you eat too much you will have too much calories and your body will not burn it all off..

15 crunches a day is not enough..

Start doing 30 seconds of continous crunches and when u feel the burn push ur self harder then take a break, do atleast 5 sets a day..

also workout ur pecks by doing dips, pushups..

sets of 10 atleast 5 a day
