Salt Abuser?!


Question: Salt Abuser.?
Okay so I salt everything, I douse salt all over my meat and veggies, whenever I have v8 juice I make a layer of salt on top, I eat a lot lot lot of pepperoni.. I eat like 10 or 15 green olives a day (with pimentos) and when the olives run out I drain all the juice into a cup and drink it like I'm doing a shot.. My favorite kind of chips is pickle which are like salt and vinegar but are basically double the vinegar and salt.. My dad makes these pickles which are full of salt and mustard and vinegar.. Is this harmful to my health.? Will I get a kidney stone.? My dad has high blood pressure he has more salt than me on his food (hes a retired doctor..)Health Question & Answer

exceed 2400 mg / day and it is no good, will cause high blood pressure.. salty foods are one of many factors in increasing risk potential for kidney stones.. switch traditional table salt with some herbs for flavoring.. try looking for a 'lemon pepper' seasoning in the herb bottle isle, that stuff is good on almost anything, like putting tobasco sauce on everything :)Health Question & Answer

Kidney stones are usually made of calcium oxalate - totally different stuff from table salt.. So salting everything probably won't cause kidney stones directly.. It may cause other problems - high blood pressure (my own dad has that, probably from salt).. I think that tends to happen more in older guys than younger.. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water to wash it all down and out..

that is alittle much, but i like salt to, its a flavor enhancer, it highlights flavors, doesnt really add new ones.. just control the amount you put in, see if you REALLY need it, like a v8, probably not, meat, i LOVE alot of salt in steak, go ahead! peas, they cant be without salt! and nothing is more disapointing than unsalted popcorn!

just try slowly adding less and less to less food..



also, table salt is gross, i hope you are using kosher salt! its flaky and its what the chefs and cooks use.. it talst 100% better, and its more potent, so you wont need as much..........(dont be thrown off the the word kosher, its just a title) its so much better, i didnt know what i was missing! it also is thinner and flakier, so it covers more surface area and doesnt use as much wasted space! TRUST ME! BUY SOME!!!!!!!! just stay under controil with it! i have trained myself to know that i dont need that much, and i use to never be able to go without alot of salt, but now i see a little can go a long way, and i dont need much more!Health Question & Answer
