Genetics and skin tone probably play the biggest role.. But the circumcision method plays some roll from what I understand.. The Gomco clamp, one of the more common methods, usually leaves a more noticeable scar.. If sutures were used it would leave a less noticeable scar, but sutures are rarely used in infant circumcision..

yes it is.. A couple of things come into play.. There is less visible scarring if its done at birth, and the method used plays a big part.. A gomco clamp will leave a more pronounced scar, than either a mogen or a plastibell clamp will.. Adult circs usually have more pronounced scars due to the use of sutures and a scalpel..Health Question & Answer

I would imagine that some ppl just don't scar very much, but probably most circ'd men do have scar whether they realize it or not.. It's where the skin changes colors.. It may be more or less than an inch too..Health Question & Answer
