Does a radiologist require good people skills?!
Question: Does a radiologist require good people skills.?
I am a college senior and am trying to figure out my career path.. My people skills are not that good and thats why I think maybe I should not try to be a doctor.. I I believe I have a decent shot to get into an ok medical school, but I am wondering if I should do something else such as geology, accounting or actuarial math.. They all do not require much people skills.. I believe can get into a fairly good geology ph..D.. program.. I would have to start all over if I wanted to do accounting or actuary.. Can I be a radiologist and still not have good people skills.? I can communicate well in writing but not so much verbally.. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

My neighbor is a radiologist.. He remarked to me that he worked in an office that provide cutting edge medical science to him.. He then commented that we were a great deal alike in that he could not work with people as I do not have too.. A radiologist reads and interprets a film form an X-ray, CT-scan or MRI study.. He will write a report and send it to the treating physic an with his findings and conclusions.. He does not see the patient.. Many docs do not care for talking with a patient because the tendency of Doctor seeking people is an obsession with their health.. The treating doc refers to avoid a malpractice lawsuit.. Radiologists have a mentally challenging job but not a socializing issue..Health Question & Answer
