It's called Hematuria, and the causes could be many things.. Such as kidney or bladder stones, kidney failure, cancer of the kidney or bladder, clot in the kidney, or even hemophilia..

Did he recently have strep throat.? You can get kidney disease after having one and that could cause bloody urine..

ER.. NOW..Health Question & Answer

One reason could be a problem with his kidneys or urinary track.. My dad had that problem a few years ago and it turned out that he had kidney stones.. It was extremely painful for him to pass them (obviously), but he went to the doctors and everything else was okay.. He'll be fine with the right treatment.. After going to the doctors, my dad had to pee in a biobag, and then keep it refridgerated for 2 weeks..Health Question & Answer

It can be a number of things.. It could be from over exertion, or from a violent ejaculation, or urination, kidney stones, etc.. It could also be (as it was in my case) bladder cancer..

Most of the problems associated with that are not too terribly serious.. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I had an operation and have been cancer free now for 4 years, and am just as normal as before..

I suggest, first of all, not to panic or get upset.. Go to WebMD..com and get some information on the symptom.. That is a good place to start.. also, make an appointment to see a Urologist who will order a bunch of tests to rule everything out, then once he is diagnosed he can receive the appropriate treatment..

The most important ting to do though is to keep a positive attitude.. Even if it is the worse case scenario, it can be overcome!Health Question & Answer
