When do guys start liking girls?!

i had my first crush at the age of 12, 6th grade.. right when we start liking each other i think girls like guys more, since girls to mature faster than guys.. at that age i think guys also like girls, but we just don't know it yet, we don't associate it as a feeling of "liking", we just have a feeling..
