Interesting drowning question?!

Question: Interesting drowning question.?
If you are in the shower and you have water in your mouth but you don't swallow any but you don't breath at all long enough for you to die. would this be considered drowning.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Eventually your body will probably take over and make you try and take a breath. But if all the water's in you mouth, you will breathe it in and that would be drowning. Drowning is death by water inhilation though, if you never inhale any, you won't drown. Maybe pass out from holding your breath if you can. But you won't die that way.
It sounds pretty dangerous thoughHealth Question & Answer

Swallowing water isn't the problem. It's sucking it into your lungs when you try to take a breath. And you couldn't hold your breath that long because you would pass out and your body would automatically breath for you.Health Question & Answer

I agree with the person that said you wouldn't die...you'd just pass out. If you could hold your breath and die this way, however, it would not be drowning. It would be dying from lack of air which I believe is called asphyxiation. Health Question & Answer

You cant die from holding your breath. You become unconscious, which is when your body automatically starts to breath. If the mouth is full of water, it breaths through the nose.Health Question & Answer

When you hold your breath for so long you eventually pass out and the water would spew out of your mouth and you would not drowned.Health Question & Answer

after awhile you will breathe through your nose through reflex, no way to stop this.Health Question & Answer
