What supplements actually safely induce an increase in muscle mass?!

Question: What supplements actually safely induce an increase in muscle mass.?
I see all these stores like GNC selling a huge variety of diferent powders and what not. I went in there and was sold some creatine, did it for one cycle and have now learned that it is potentially harmful to you system. What does a store like GNC sell that I should take a look at to build more muscle mass.? I already work out at least 4-5 times a week, sleep well, and eat healthy.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Word to the wise, never ask the people who are selling you something if it's good. I've heard of a lot of pretty bad advice coming from GNC.

There is currently no evidence creatine is harmful to your system, except possibly in the case of an individual with existing kidney problems. That being said, it's still overrated. It can help you push a little harder and gain a few extra pounds of muscle (maybe), but magic it is not. There is no such thing as a muscle inducing supplement that can be considered safe. Anything on the market really falls into one of two categories: supplements or drugs. Supplements simply make up for shortfalls in diet, and won't work wonders. Drugs (steriods, hormones, etc) will work wonders, but come with 10 side effects for every benefit (shrivelled grapes anyone.?).

There is no shortcut. Sad, but true.Health Question & Answer
