Why does my husband sweat so much in his sleep?!

Question: Why does my husband sweat so much in his sleep.?
My husband sweats something fierce in his sleep. So bad that he soaks the sheets and his pillow. He also has to have a fan or the ac going yearround. Any ideas why he sweats so profusely.? Is it something to be concerned about.? BTW He is 25 years old, and he's not overweight (if that matters at all).Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Please have him talk to his doctor about this. Write down all the symptoms.

There are many things that can do this. I can only talk about what I do know from personal experience.

1) Does you husband have sleep apnea (breathing stoppage during sleep). I have severe sleep apnea (runs in the family) and I had found this out after telling my doctor all of my symptoms. Loud snoring, very dry mouth, day-time sleepiness. And also night-time sweating. Because the body is working harder to get oxygen to the brain, the heart starts to pump harder and this causes sweatng.
2) Possible hormone issues can cause sweating. I have both testosterone and thyroid.

I very certain that there are much more to this, but I will only talk about what I know.

I hope this helps you. Please go a see his doctor.

I would talk to him doctor right away.Health Question & Answer

he may have an internal problem. check his whole body over for any strange things (pimples, sores, bruises, white marks, dark marks, check around his eyes, behind the ears everywhere...anything at all) sometimes small things are signs of deeper problems. get a blood check.
if its emotional stress, try getting him to play sport on a weekly basis and take a warm shower before sleep. dont use any soaps or deodorant except for talc if you have to. eat well and maybe more vegetarian than meat.Health Question & Answer

For the sweating, try him sleeping with out any blanket on top of him, or rap him in a lot of clothing, and then the clothing will absorb it, so he will be ok
good luck!Health Question & Answer

It could be a number of things, have him go to the doctor, and have a physical.

Good Luck!! (and do it soon, so you don't worry that much)Health Question & Answer

Well that would be something you should talk to a doctor about.. But if i had to guess he might have overactive sweat glands or he might be a diabetic.
