Ive built muscle but also gained belly fat?!

Question: Ive built muscle but also gained belly fat.?
ok, i really really need help
a lot of help!

i been lifting weights for a little over a year now.
i was on a running team, so i did run a LOT
ive always wanted to bulk up, now i know that running long distance and bulking do not match. but now i am done with running, i been focusing on building more muscle, especially on my arms...i want to bulk up a lot. i havent ran for about 4 months, and well now i have a belly that is very noticable =[
the reason why i havent been running is becuase i know that running sheds muscle, and i have a VERY fast metabolism, so when i run, my muscles shed pretty quickly. my question here is, how do i do cardio so i can get a flat stomatch and a great core, without losing muscle in my arms. ive got to eat a LOT to build muscles, but eating a lot also gains belly fat! someone please help!

i am trying to gain a lot more muscles in my arms, and lose the belly fat..
can anyone give me any advice.? any bodybuilders out there that can tell me what to do.?
thanks in advance. Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You do need calories to gain size but if it causes excess amounts of belly fat then your are taking in too many calories. If you are weigh training 3 to 4 days a week covering all of the major muscles you wont gain fat since muscle burns more calories. Try reducing your caloric intake back 300 - 400 a day.Health Question & Answer

Actually, you should be running or doing some sort of intense cardio after a workout. You shouldn't be shedding muscle by running. If anything it will build or tone muscle. Try eating more protein and whey and less fatty foods.Health Question & Answer
