Since your playing soccer I recommend that you get all your exercise from practice and not go to the gym. If you need to gain weight then take in much protein beofre practice and eat at night before you fall asleep. Don't skip meals.

One of the most important things to do is to make sure you are getting food in you within 15mins after you workout. Even something as simple as a granola bar will help. Your body needs energy after working out and if it does not have food to take from...it will take from your muscle which will make you loose weight.

Muscle is much heavier than fat so consider not only doing cardio, but weight training as well. You should be doing muscular workouts every other day for maximum gain.
