If I were you, I would ask her to go out to eat or to the movies or something along those lines. You don't have to let her know right off that you're interested. Just that you want to be friends. That's the best way to start a relationship anyway. Don't get your expectations up. She might even surprise you and show some unexpected interest. If not, play it cool. Ask her out again in a couple of days. I assume you haven't been "out" with her yet. If she doesn't respond after a couple of dates, then let her know how you feel. She might be shy and actually feel the same way you do. If not, she should respect that and there isn't any reason why you shouldn't be able to remain friends.

Do you think she likes you back.? If she does, go out just to hang out at first. Don't ask her out if you're unsure, cause that's actually a big commitment.

And if she says no, that won't necessarily ruin the friendship unless you let it happen. I dated a really close friend, we broke up, stayed friends, and now we're dating again and it's really nice. The time that we weren't dating, we still stayed friends.
You two are just human beings with similar feelings.
