Can cysts be cancerous?!

Question: Can cysts be cancerous.?

I have one, and have to have it removed. I'm frightened that it might be cancer but not said anything of my fears to anyone I know. It is on my mind a lot though.

The cyst is in my mouth, in my gum. I'm 17, and I'm worried sick to be honest.

I get depressed about it because I keep thinking it might be cancer, or spread or something and they won't be able to do anything about it.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
There are many, many non-cancerous cysts and they can be anywhere from the wrist to the scalp -- many places.

What makes you think this is a cancerous cyst.? Have your dentist or physician said anything that would make you think that.?

I believe you should call your dentist's office or doctor's office today and ask them about this so they can address your concern.

I've found that, very often, my worries have made my life much more unpleasant than it had to be. 90% of the time, my worries were for nothing. I would have been wiser to release my anxieties or talk them out rather than let them burden me. You are a joyful young man -- don't lose that joy.Health Question & Answer
