Answers:
A jockstrap is a type of underwear that is designed to hold a guy's genitals safely in place during sports or other activity. There are several types of jockstraps:
A standard jock has a pouch, 2 leg straps, and a 2 or 3 inch wide waistband. Best used for general athletic activity like running, working out, lifting, low contact sports.
Some jockstraps have a pocket in the front pouch designed to hold a plastic "cup" (called a "box" in England) to protect better during high contact sports like hockey, baseball, martial arts, paintball.
They also make a swimmer jock that has a narrower 1 inch waistband for use under swimsuits, board shorts, or jogging shorts for guys who want some extra support when swimming or light activity.
Some fashion underwear designers also make jocks in more stylish colors and styles for everyday wear. They are worn by many men who appreciate them for support, comfort, freedom of movement, and style.
They have an open back for two reasons:
-better ventilation.
-more flexibility and freedom of movement, since there is not an extra layer of fabric streched across the glutes.
-less fabric dries more quickly.Health Question & Answer

A jock strap is hollow because there has to be room for a man's penis to fit inside of it and it doesn't support the testicles it protects them from stuff such as a thirty mile an hour soccer ball flying at your balls (not a fun experience) that is why they are hard. It is really a container kinda like a helmet if you will. And they are uncomfortable because they dig into your shins. You don't have to wear them but in sports when you get hit in the testicles it really hurts it is a gut wrenching pain that some guys puke from so we like to avoid that. And we don't have to be in sports to wear them we just don't choose to because they are uncomfortable.
Boxers for some guys are comfortable because they feel more free than regular underwear because how would you like to have something squeezing your breasts close to your body all of the time not to be rude just as an example.? And no they don't get sore they are joking around. I hope this answers your questions.Health Question & Answer

you don't NEED it but it makes everything more itchy but safeHealth Question & Answer

Jockstraps are designed to give support where man needs support. Never was jock in school but always a athletic supporter.Health Question & Answer

I reckon they are pretty comfortable itkeeps all your tackle in place and lets your backside breatheHealth Question & Answer

Boxers are comfy...jock straps aren't.Health Question & Answer

Another thing a jock strap does is lift the stuff up and keep it in one place, close to the body. Otherwise, it would get smashed between the legs during running. The connective tissues can be damaged during strenuous activity, if there is nothing to support it.

Guys don't wear them all the time for several reasons:
1. They are are kind of high-maintenance and wear out quickly.
2. They accentuate the stuff under normal clothing, which is bad for, say, an office environment.
3. The elevated temperature of the testicles when kept close to the body over long periods is believed to be bad for reproductive health.

(I have to laugh at the irony of calling the cup a "box". That's rich.)Health Question & Answer

let me guess, you don't have any brothers.?
i'm now an expert so let me enlighten you,
you're supposed to put your box in them so that if a ball hits you your man parts don't get hurt, the reason they usually wear jocks with them is to hold it more firmly in place, like imagine a girl wearing a bra too loose so it moves around and sits uncomfortably.
it doesn't have a back because it's not underwear it's just to hold the box in place. not all guys who play sport wear them, like in baseball, only the catcher wears it because he's the only one likely to get hit there. i don't think they're uncomfortable but if they are i think they're more comfy than getting hit by a ball downstairs so it's the lesser of the 2 evils.
if a guys balls get sore from wearing boxers he wouldn't wear a jock strap he would wear jocks, like i said a jock strap isn't underwear.
i hope this helps, if you don't have brothers consider yourself lucky, it's pretty traumatising seeing jock straps amongst the other washing.Health Question & Answer

Ok yes they do support the "twig and berries" during athletic things. you can put a cup into (its not called a box its called a cup) and there are 2 kinds, a hard cup wich you wear for things like football where you know you will propably get hit, and soft cups which you wear for like soccer which are more flexible to make them easier and more comfortable. they dont have a back because well idk they just dont i guess. your not required most of the time to wear them for sports, you could wear like compression shorts, but the jock will hold the cup in place better. and we wear boxers cause there is more room for freedom and they are comfortable. and some men do wear jocks as thier everyday underwear its just not as common. they dont really get itchy or anything unless they are to tight or something like read this shirt and it will tell you how much most men like them .?product=10003" rel="nofollow">http://jockstrapcentral.com/productdispl... (if you click the pic of just words its easier to read) and you can get some for like hockey and things where you move a LOT where the cup is in the strap permenantly or just the only part of it where it covers the frontal area. and no our balls dont get sore unless they are doing something wrong in wich case i would sudjest that they do wear a jock to help that out and me personally i really like them and i find it sexy when guys wear them so idk its all a matter of personal prefference.Health Question & Answer
