Question: Can the characteristics of sperms be compared to that of germs. Are sperms as contagious as germs..?
Answers:
I'm assuming you mean bacteria and such when you say 'germs', right.? Cause technically, sperm are germ cells but not the type you're talking about.
Sperm could be compared to bacteria in that they have a flagella (albeit different in structure). The comparison kind of stops there though.
As for causing disease, sperm don't typically carry disease but the semen they travel in can contain bacteria or fungus if the guy is infected with an STD. Semen can also contain HIV viruses if the infection has progressed that far. Obviously, the main thing they cause is pregnancy in fertile females.Health Question & Answer
