Im a 14 year old male, and i've never masturbated before. Im not sure why, i guess im just scared that something is going to go wrong. I also read somewhere that it is a sin, because you're using it just to get pleasure and that reproduction isn't occurring. On the other hand, i heard that it is healthy for you. There is virtually nothing that can go wrong. The only things I can think of are: getting caught in the act, spraying all over the place when you ejaculate, and going at so vigorously you rub yourself raw, which would take a while.
The shower is good for easy cleanup, but probably not the best for a first time. Lying on your back is a better option, just try not to get it on the bathroom rug.

It's up to you weather you masturbate or not, for there are no specific verses in the Bible that state masturbation is wrong. I'd try it and if you don't like it or anything, then don't do it again. Be aware that you may feel sad or guilty, but that's because of the hormone decrease, which is normal. If you're able to, you will see semen ejaculating from your penis at the end when you orgasm. This is normal. You should talk to a parent if you get serious pains or something starts to swell. If you masturbate too long, then you may swell, but other than that, you're fine. Nothing is going to go wrong, it's perfectly healthy and nearly everyone does it.
It's not a sin, it's not stated anywhere in the bible that it is.
And there's nothing wrong with doing it to get pleasure, what about everyone who has sex but aren't wanting to get pregnant.?
