Increase activity, Decrease calories, you have heard it before and it is truth if you burn more calories then you take in then you will burn it, but don't cut out a food group you do need to have some fat to lose fat. Eat healthy, well balanced, smaller portions (yes you need portion control) increase your activities so you burn 2-3000 calories and decrease your caloric intake to 1500-2000 calories eating about 6-8 SMALL meals a day, with the increase meals (from 2-3 to 6-8) you are increasing your metabolism which in turn makes you burn your calories better. Take Multi-vitamins and try to stay away from over the counter weight loss stuff, it can ruin your heart or liver. and you need both to live....lol... Your bodyfat may be 30%+ or it could be 12% and you are heavy because of muscle. When you lose weight you will gain muscle, hit many platos (where you stay a certian weight before you go anywhere) don't get discouraged..Health Question & Answer

230 lbs is too much weight for you. Try increasing your activities/exercize and decreasing your calorie intake, beginning with sweets and pastries. Maybe you could go to a fitness club or get a group of friends to exercize (dancing or walking) for 30 min, 4 or 5 times a week. Good luck and don't give up.
