You are in the midst of growth and yes, you will continue to grow up to around 22 to 23 years of age. Being in this growth range, you are still in your adolescence which means that you will not only grow and develop physically but also mentally as you further mature. Growth will depend on a number of factors: the genetic make-up of you from your parents, your own nutrition, sleep and exercise.

It seems that you have your dad's genetic make up. Look at the other males in your blood family and notice their height. Everyone's different, but at 14 being 5'9", you're bound to get taller.

Growth spurts take place at different times for various males and you may be in that situation. You will probably have another growth spurt as you continue developmentally through puberty as you are still young.

I assume that the growth you are speaking of is height, which is a concern of many males your age. Depending on the above stated factors, you may continue to gain height. Stay away from outside influences to your body, such as growth hormones or excessive supplements. Growth will take place and let your body develop naturally.

It will be good to get a full physical from your doctor and you should share your concern with him. It is good to check for any abnormalities that may not have been previously detected. Assuming that you are healthy and growing normally, you shouldn't have any problems and will continue to grow.

Give it time, you have a few more years to grow. For now, concentrate on taking care of yourself and you will grow in many other ways. Good luck!Health Question & Answer
