im 16 and i was born with intestinal blockage i guess you can call it but lately its been reeeally bad and my dad is making me eat prunes. i had some just now and im having a hard time keeping them down. but if they'll help ill keep trying, if not then im not going to put myself through the misery.
so do they work.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes, prunes can help clear you out.

If you're having a hard time with the prunes you might try grapes. They're also very good at cleaning you out, but a little more palatable.

A lot of people use High fiber foods like bran cereal to keep themselves regular. Drinking lots of water is very important too, so you don't become dehydrated.

Here's a link to a list of High Fiber Foods. Maybe you'll find things you like better than prunes or grapes: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4...

Since you have this genetic intestinal blockage it couldn't hurt to talk about it with your doctor or a nutritionist. You might have special considerations because of your condition.

Hope everything comes out alright. ;o) Health Question & Answer

For me they DO NOT WORK.

Try eating tomatoes, dark greens, prunes do not flush you out, to me they make me feel in more pain then I really am.

When your feeling like this try eating a nice green salad with tomatoes and a nice dressing ( of your choice ). Eating Pasta evens helps me but trust me, this will help you flush out!

I hope you feel lots and lots better! And hopefully you don't have to eat prunes ever again!Health Question & Answer

Yes. Lots of fiber in prunes. Try them dried and drink a lot of water and/or green tea. They can be a little nasty when they have been strewed (rehydrated) but dried prunes are sweet and kind of like raisins but you need to drink liquid to get the maximum effect.Health Question & Answer
